No. Bind9 is a nearly total rewrite and AFAICT a good one. There are some 
alternatives to Oracle, but big databases aren't toys.

Mandrake as a server works quite well, they seem to be less inclined to nudge 
the envelope than they do with the X stuff. Mandrake 8.2 has been good to me 
so far.
