[plug] sendmail problem

Cannot send email from a newly updated Linux RH 7.2 box.  In /var/log/maillog getting the following:

Jun 27 17:24:47 gateway sendmail[1569]: g5R9Olj01569: from=<jlmiller at mmtnetworks.com.au>, size=0, class=0, nrcpts=0, proto=SMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=[192.168.1.52]
Jun 27 17:24:48 gateway cucipop[1570]: Opened jlmiller's mailbox
Jun 27 17:25:00 gateway sendmail[1572]: g5R9P0j01572: ruleset=check_rcpt, arg1=<jlmiller at mmtnetworks.com.au>, relay=[192.168.1.52], reject=550 5.7.1 <jlmiller at mmtnetworks.com.au>... Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed [192.168.1.52]

What I noticed was relay=the internal ipadress of the workstation instead of the gateway.  Where can this be changed.
