Jaqueline, WestNet's JavaScript menu system does some similar things in 
Konqueror to the cancer website you asked us to test (e.g. menu backgrounds 
not fully painted), but unlike the cancer site, the selections in WestNet's 
menus actually work for me. It might be worthwhile comparing the code between 
them.

I also had a thought that you might try padding a menu name out with ` ' 
characters (and/or replacing the spaces in the menu item names with ` ') 
to see if that makes Konq happier.
