Hi all,

Thanks for the replies to my message about Setting up Mandrake 8.1 on a PC.
At this time I don't see any problems arising from the installation except
for the video card drivers as I have a standard PC with Asus p3b-f m/b, 5gb
partition for Linux, 256mb Ram (don't ask why, mainly for windows) Pentium
III 450mhz CPU (slot 1), ISA soundblaster Soundcard, a PCI kingmax network
card and a Riva TNT 16mb AGP video card.

If I do have any problems, I will endeavour to resolve them myself before
letting you guys know what I have tried to do to solve the problem.

Cheers

Paul

If its a slightly older machine, be aware there could be hardware issues
windows doesn't notice that make linux go "urk". Most common are so
called "sig11" probs from bad CPU/RAM/cache, and NVidia card problems
(nvidia refuse to document their cards so need binary drivers from
nvidia.com to get full accel support).

If you have no weird "core" hardware you should be fine.
