I have to agree with you Peter, I too believe that the time I have spent 
"playing with linux" has got to be worth more than a 5 day course. However I 
must admit that you can learn a lot from a 5 day course. I did a 5 day 
intensive CCNA course last year and believe that I would have spent more than 
three years getting to the stage I got to from that course, due to missing 
some important issues, and not doing things the right way tm.  The only thing 
you have to realise is that you will probably be taught how to pass the exam 
as oppossed to how to use Linux, which may or may not be what you need.

I would consider doing the course if I had the money, but I'm doing my CCNP 
and a Grad Cert at Uni now so I can't :-(
