Might be an idea to wire up a serial console and stuff that into the
back of another machine to log whatever messages come up; and to
provide a login if the machine hasn't crashed, but has gone deaf on
the network. You never know; an 
	rcnetwork restart
may be all that's needed.

I had a problem with a D-Link switch that'd go deaf over the
weekend. So now it gets pinged (well, the printer on a port of it)
once every hour. It's kept the thing from going deaf.
