Empirically, based on an utter lack of knowledge of WAIX internals, I
would say it is a giveaway, based on (a) the name; and (b) the fact that
I've only seen it on traceroutes to WAIX-connected sites.

Yep.  You can't really tell until you look at your usage meter in a few
days' time and think "oh bugger, I thought that 300MB download was on
WAIX" :-)
