Subject: VMWare OS platforms

Hello.

I am considering upgrading my computer system, and am considering the
inclusion of VMWare, to allow concuurent use of multiple operating
systems on the sme computer.

I currently use two versions of Windows, and Red Hat Linux 7.3, which is
on its way out, according to Red Hat, having been superseded by Red Hat
Linux 9.0, with support for Red Hat Linux 7.3 being phased out.

I currently use multiple booting, which means that I can only use one
operating system at any time, on the one computer.

Due to the way that Red Hat handles its upgrades and updates, I have
been considering using Debian Linux, which my wife already uses, as do
many members of the Western Australian Linux Users Group, known as PLUG
(Perth Linux Users Group), Perth being the state capital of Western
Australia.

However, I note that VMWare apparently does not support Debian Linux,
either as a host operating system, or as a guest operating system, which
I find to be a disincentive to try VMWare. The not supporting Debian
Linux as an operating system, is indicated on the VMWare web site.

Can you please advise me as to whether VMWare is intended to support
Debian Linux as both a host operating system, and as a guest operating
system, and, if so, when this is expected to be implemented?

Thank you in anticipation.
