Just a stab in the dark - have you looked into using a squid redirector?
It should be possible to write a short Perl script[1] to re-route URLs
matching certain regexes via Perth.  The tricky bit is that AFAIK it can
only change the URL, so you may have to set up your proxy so e.g.
http://perthserver.local/proxy/bytesex.org/bttv/ would Do The Right
Thing.

which just needs to be fed the regexes that you want to redirect.
