I meant the whole VCR, using composite or S-Video output. Also handy for 
watching VHS tapes :-)

Bad news: there is no HDTV on SBS, ABC, or Seven.
ABC does broadcast an HD channel, but its just up-converted.
Seven and SBS 'hd' is a political exercise. That lovely channel 7 HD 
Demo you see on the plasma screens in the shops is actually 720x576.
Sure its 50Hz progressive, but every 2nd frame is identical to the previous.
Only 9 and 10 here broadcast any real HD, and not much of that.

If your analog TV signal is good, you won't really get a better picture 
from digital, except that its widescreen.
    But if you record the digital TV on your PC, its a lot better than VHS.

I think Linux support for HDTV is actually better than XP.
