Newby question ;-):

I have searched unsuccessfully for guidelines to flashing the firmware of my
dvd drive, as per Arie's suggestion. Can anyone point me to description
of how to flash the firmware under linux? I went to the manufacturer's
website and downloaded the zip file for my model dvd drive (lite-on),
unpacked it to get a windoze executable and then tried running it under
wine. It ran okay, but complained it couldn't find the drive. I
couldn't find a linux binary or tar file so am stumped from here. Any
clues - in a general sense?

Gavin
