Seconded, this is *exactly* how I do it.. results have always been spectacular and with recent
releases of WINE the experience is far more pleasant.

One problem with vobcopy I have noticed is it tends to just keep going in the case of read errors,
writing out corrupt data to the target file in case of a misread. I patched my copy locally years
ago and submitted patches upstream but I recently downloaded the latest version and it appears it's
still not checking return codes properly. I just made the version I have here error out and give me
a chance to really clean the disc properly.

Speaking of cleaning disks, I accidentally bought a pack of CD/DVD wipes instead of LCD wipes the
other day (looks like a pack of wet-ones). Not wanting to waste the stuff I tried it on a couple of
discs I had been having trouble reading and would you believe it.. they actually helped!

I usually clean my discs with isopropyl alcohol and lint-free cloth, but these wipes seem to leave a
film of some sort which appears to help smooth/fill the scratches or blemishes in the surface. I was
*astounded* I must say. At 25 dhs (about $9) for enough to last me years I'd spring for them again.

I reckon they improve the clarity and transparency of the music, making the highs clearer and
de-muddying the lows. Best experienced with twisted mercury speaker cables, a push-pull EL34 Class A
output stage and platinum output transformer windings.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.... I'd trust my Spec-An over my ears any day of the week, and it tells
me no difference! But seriously, they helped me read a couple of dodgy backups I burned years ago
and helped save a very rare limited run pressing of a report I needed.

Brad (can anyone tell I'm in an airport and bored again?)
