[plug] backing up and restoring hard drive image

well guys, thanks for all the advice regarding my question below.

I got my replacement harddrive yesterday and everything was successful!

seeing as I'm a cheapskate and would probably not get the chance to meet each of you individually, buy yourselves a beer (or other drink of choice) 
and pretend it came from me.
