Firstly welcome to PLUG and welcome to Perth.

I would suggest that you take a look at :

http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/

In the top left hand corner you can type in your phone number, then click 
on search - the results that are returned are for all of the ADSL 
services/packages available through your local exchange.

As for support with Linux - this mailing list is probably one of the best 
resources available to you.		;-)

This list will give you access to some very talented and capable people.
