One for the archives, I guess:
I couldn't find any option to do this as I originally wanted. But, I did
find that you can drag and drop the file tabs with a middle click, only
able to change order left and right, not switch them between top and
bottom of the file editing space, unfortunately. The best compromise is
to customise the toolbars to appear at the window bottom, near the file
tabs. While not a 'standard' way to look at the gui, it achieves the
original wish to minimise mouse movement. sigh.
I do find that quanta is living up to its positive reviews now that my
basic level of html authoring is improving. Give it a look if you're so
inclined. I had started really basically and used nvu/kompozer up till
now (give me a break, I had to start somewhere while being self-taught)
but they had annoyances and limits that even I quickly found. Comparing
them to seamonkey reveals that as their parent package, so no point
looking at seamonkey for an alternative. OTOH, Quanta is quite different
to all three of those. My $0.05 :-)
