got mine from office works
tested installing wubi netbook and 10.4 went aok no probs
I then did an 10.10 alpha 3 upgrade and got touch response
didnt register first touch but when touched with second finger could control mouse with second
but seem to kill keyboard response until toggle rocker and got back

startup is the hardest (no touch to choose startup)

I describe the hanvon as a mini computer with a touch screen layer added
win 7 not intergrated properly, just bolted on.with token touchpad options.
linux is easier to use and adjust (try playing with windows fonts to make readable or bigger and you lose the buttons (linux we just alt grab ANYWHERE and move :)
DEF DONT recommend it as a user touchpad (ipad is better for it just works crowd :)

got network working via usb to ethernet (see it just works)
have a belkin 54g usb wireless network that works for wireless but the tplink doesnt work (havent done the niswrapper test yet)

Got to back up the daughters computer and reinstall befor I can get back to it.
let me know how you go and what you find :)

Hanvon bc10 touchpad  (also samsung galaxy s :)

Being a glutton for punishment
I wanted something to play with

getting linux install is EASY :)
no touchscreen yet and wireless a pain
(but can use a belkin 54g usb for wirless, anyone know of another wireless usb that just works?)

ubuntu 10.4 (64bit)
ubuntu netbook
both where installed via wubi

but can run linux livecd off usb dvd no probs

anyone else tinkering??

Yes, I'm another tinkerer. I found the same things you did; no touchscreen and the wireless doesn't work.

The manufacturer provides Linux drivers for the Wireless, but they don't work. ndiswrapper also didn't help with this card.

As to the touchscreen - it's detected by the kernel and X, but simply doesn't work. I've been meaning to cat the event file and see if it's sending anything at all. One report on the internet with the same hardware says that they upgraded to a kernel.org kernel and got random keystrokes with that kernel...

So if I may ask, where did you get yours from?

Daniel Foote.
