The URL above was posted by Simon. i bought the "cool toy" and loaded 
Linux mint-8. She runs good and, for 190 quid (bare bones), the slow 
operation is no prob to me as, i am a bit slow myself.

i too have found that, no one in Australia wants to flog me a huawei USB 
modem - i suspect because it works with Linux; well too bad for them, i 
will get one from India (i might have looked to Thailand, where the cool 
toy came from but, a military stouch is in the offing there at the moment).
