[plug] PLUG Activity

Hello, I am certainly not new to Linux, but I am new to the PLUG
mailing-list.

I would just like to kindly ask whether there is much activity as I have
not seen many logged in users on the mail plug site, the calendar of events
looks like mainly regulatory non-profit operational meetings and such (with
the exception of a few other events on there), and I cannot seem to get
onto the IRC server (this is likely because I do not yet have a
login/active PLUG membership/subscription or I'm just simply not
configuring it correctly, however some confirmation on settings and/or help
with irssi would be well received).

So, where are all the interesting social and technical activities at?
What are some of the new interesting things people are working on?

Apologies if I appear ignorant (or if I am asking too many questions at
once), but I am simply interested in expanding my Linux knowledge as well
as getting more involved with interesting people and technologies!
