AFS if you are game, you can ramp up the local cache to be a few hundred
gigs,  and if you are game turn on asynchronous writes to home dirs,  it
will behave pretty well but get ugly fast if you have shared images (I
wouldnt do that!). If it's just the one user accessing and using, it will
be pretty usable. See how good the disconnected volumes support is, and
test, test test for your use cases!
