It saves the video as RAW DV, which I think is stereo @ 16 bit, 48 KHz.
However, since we're using a mono radio mic, when we're streaming we're
downmixing to mono, and when we're encoding to x264 we're doing probably
joint stereo (or mono again).

I think so. We didn't get it working properly; dvswitch needs to start
with the "-t" flag to print the tally information, and then we need to
write a second script to capture that (form STDIN) and open and close
the serial port accordingly).
